You're getting him something for Christmas, it should definitely be something special then. It's a special holiday, so you should try to get something that'll really say how much you appreciate them.

I don't really care for them, but they make him happy enough. Most are Pokemon based like Princess Jigglypuff and shit like that. I want to get him something else instead of more movies though.

I wouldn't say there is a particular something special that you need to get him, but no, you can't just treat it like a normal holiday with the person you are dating. Even if they are an alien and don't technically celebrate Christmas.

That's why I'm asking. I'm still kind of.. new to relationships. I got him a bunch of romcom movies for his Wriggling day, so I'd like to get something else for him for this one then.

Hehe, well we all have to start somewhere! Trust me, it gets easier the longer you stick with it. Sometimes, there are even striking moments of clarity where suddenly everything makes sense. [One day, Vanitas. One day you will understand.]

But here's my suggestion. Focus less on something to get him and more on something to do for him. Not saying you shouldn't get him a present or anything, but maybe go for something small and simple as sort of a sideline to the main event. Never underestimate the power of a nice, romantic gesture. Especially with someone like Karkat.

Yeah, I think I've had a few of those "everything makes sense" moments before. That sounds like a good idea overall though. Now to just... think of what it should be. [Brainstorming, here we go.] We hold hands a lot, and dates typically have a meal in the mix. [And I refuse to let go of his hand until the food has shown up; that comment gets to stay private though.]

Well, if you're at a city or town by then, perhaps you could check and see if there are any festivals or whatnot that they're hosting? An all-day date on Christmas day's pretty romantic.

If you want to do something special, you could cook something or take him out for dinner. I'd walk you through using an oven, but it's easier if I was to show you in person, which I'm sadly nowhere near where you two might be. Anywho, Christmas dinner out may require you to call ahead to wherever you want to go and reserve a seat. I've been told that restaurants tend to be packed if it's a popular place to go on that day.

Well, you should find something that your friend likes and get that for them. People normally drop hints when they want things, even if they don't know it.
