His face contorts as he tries to piece together this who, and who he genuinely fears it to be, the simmering annoyance slipping into a deeper hate, eyes bright even when his lip curls and he grips his gear with both hands. It takes a long time to talk though, to spit out the word, even when he starts belatedly trying to force his expression into something calmer.
