The sounds continue a little, before the gear is getting flipped over to stare up at the little gaggle of young Pokemon; a small Deino that is lightly gnawing on one Sylph's tails, and even if it should hurt, the Espeon don't give no shits. No, he's more interested in staring down his trainer who is a few feet away on his back, and he's staring at the camera upside down where he's flopped with such narrowed eyes.]

I said no, Sylph, put that away. No one is going to care where I found Annie.

[Annie? Who is that? It can't be - oh yeah, it definitely the Anorith crawling over his shoulder, past his face now and he's making a grossed out expression because oh my god she is a giant isopod and seeing the legs in motion is REALLY KIND OF NASTY. Brb rolling over with a lurch, while Sylph chuckles in a catlike way, Snaps minds his own business and Annie chirps happily and just. Crawls over the gear. Hope you like seeing those legs in motion, network, cause ew ~~no really, google only if you want to see some gross bug legs~~.]

[Spike notices the strange angle of the feed, before it's covered in, well, bug legs. And he's seen those type of legs before. A little too many in fact.]

It'll just be Sylph's fault if it gets broken again. [Giving Annie a grossed out face, he returns to the other questions with a sigh, sitting up and picking up the gear after wiping it clean on his shirt.]

I caught her in the bug catching contest because she was something I hadn't seen before, but I wasn't expecting that when I picked her up after.

You mean he's broken one already?? And I thought Pinchy and Acorn were bad...

Why does he keep playing with it?

[Spike grimaced as he remembered his encounter with them.]

You were lucky - I ran into a stampede of them. Raspberry had to push them all away with a Surf attack, but this one Anorith was determined not to let go.

He's only taken to breaking them by dropping them from high places trying to catch me in compromising states of half asleep. I'm just glad I don't keep Sylph and my Zoroark in the same parties, or they'd be mocking me without me even needing to be around.

Heh, a stampede of these little things? They aren't that big though. [He's half poking fun but oh no the reminder of ALL. THOSE. UGLY LEGS. Nope he's going to hold his mouth a little thoughtfully with a blrhgh expression. Nevermind, he's not going to hassle anymore.]

Wow I'm really glad Pinchy doesn't do that especially now he can fly...

Er...how many have you gone through exactly? And where do you get replacements?

[Probably a good thing to know, with Pinchy around. Twilight would never let Spike hear the end of it if Pinchy broke his gear...]

And there were hundreds of them! It was like a wall of Anorith! If I hadn't been riding Raspberry, I would have been smothered!

About maybe four in the nearly three years I've been here. You can get a replacement at any Pokecenter though.

[Chuckling, sounds like this "Pinchy" is a troublemaker. Good. The world needs troublemakers that aren't his own Pokemon.]

That had to have been pretty gross in the end. So you caught one, how is it in battles?

Four??? Twilight would kill me if I broke that many! Don't you get into trouble for breaking them all the time?

And gross isn't quite the term I'd use. Scary would be better.

I'm a breeder, so I've only really had mock battles with him against some of my other pokemon. He's not too bad - he has some interesting moves. The Ancient Power thing is kind of a weird one to get used to...

Not really, and it's been over the course of three years, again. They break from wear and tear, it just happens, so no one really makes much of a fuss.

[Still, that makes him laugh.]

Oh, right, scary for others. Not at all for you drowning in a sea of Anorith, right? If he's not that bad, I might have to try raising mine in seriousness rather than out of disgust from the legs. Maybe just have her stay low to the ground when she can or something.

[Equestria doesn't really had this type of stuff, so Spike has no idea how long they last or how easily they break. It's taking Spike time to get used to using the gear and the computer, and he still doesn't understand how words just appear on the screen thingy in front of him.]

Well...uh...I may have been a little scared. A really tiny bit. I mean, it was a lot of dead pokemon coming at me!

[Spike wasn't too bothered about the legs - after all, he'd been raising some weird looking pokemon. His Forretress was certainly...interesting to look at...]

It might be useful if they can learn dig? Then they can burrow themselves during a fight. Although that might not be a great idea. Pinchy attacks me all the time using that move.

Or maybe they evolve into something really cool looking!

It's natural to be a little afraid. Death isn't something anyone is prepared to deal with unless they handle it on a regular basis, and I've found that rarely is anyone prepared.

Maybe, hm.. I suppose it's something to see when I start training. I'll hope they evolve into something better. What is Pinchy, anyway?

[Spike blinks at the first comment. He hadn't really thought about it that way before.]

Really? I mean, I've been in a few close situations before, but every other pony always seems so brave. I try to be brave too but sometimes it's hard.

Pinchy is a Trapinch. Or he was when I got him. He was the one given to me when I first got here.

[Spike sighs ruefully]

I called him Pinchy because when he was a Trapinch, he always bit me. Now he's evolved into a Flygon, which is even worse because he can fly.

...I really hope that my Anorith doesn't turn into a flying type. One is hard enough to deal with.

It was weird, turning them from fossils back into pokemon. Do you think that they remember anything from before they were a fossil?
