[Vanitas looks rather pleased, despite trying to obviously not smile at the camera.]

Ventus, I got your package today. Carriers apologized about it being late.. [Pausing a moment, he lets out a sighed breath, a small smile creeping onto his face anyway.] It looks good.

[There's a moment with purple streaking across the screen, paws hitting the Gear and unlocking it for the rest of the network to see; Vanitas petting a very affectionate Purrloin on his shoulder with a red ribbon tied around the kitty's neck, smiling a bit more openly.]

Nitas, don't jump up like that. I was done talking anyway.. impatient.

[Turning his attention back to the Gear, he clears his throat.]

Thanks, Ventus.

[.... o o p s, he didn't know the call unlocked. Well, either way, he's hanging up now, so the feed clicks off.]

I haven't heard anything. [That's a hint to spill the beans, lightstuff.]

There aren't Masters, and he's never seen Terra or Aqua around. He doesn't know the same worlds, even though he's visited ones that're close to them. It's almost like they're gone.

[Lowering his eyes a touch, he shifts the gaze away again slightly.] I have to think that it's Master's fault.

Based on what Terra said last time, I think you're right.

[Keeping his gaze adverted, he took a moment before speaking again.] I'm not sure how far Terra got, himself. Master had... plans for him.

I know he tricked Terra into fighting Master Eraqus, and that led to...

[His expression darkens with a sadness he can't mask very well. At least he got to talk to Master here, but knowing the man who taught him so much had died partly because of him didn't fail to nag at him]

Even after that. The reason he caused that, was to create more darkness in Terra's heart. Sadness and pain, rage and hate.

But why? Did he want to rip Terra in half too?

He wanted a new, younger body. The darkness would sustain him, I believe is how he phrased it. I don't know if he succeeded or not, but his plan was to possess Terra's body by placing his heart into it.

[Time to go through Ventus' reaction to this in its many wonderful, beautiful stages.

[And then, worry. Poor big bro, he was being misled by that cruel, awful old man...]

[And then the very notion fills him with enough anger that close observation makes it evident he's shaking]

[There are not polite words for how Ventus is feeling. He doesn't know what to do with this]

[Vanitas doesn't blame him one bit. He's always known how Ventus felt for his older brother, and he didn't need to feel their connection to know just how angry Ventus was.]

He always sent Terra on a wild goose chase to find me. He never did, until we all met at the graveyard.

I wish I could've done more...

[More to stop him, aside from smashing his heart and all]

But if he managed that, I couldn't save them.

[He can't help staring. Did Vanitas just tell him to have faith in his friends?]

[Gonna just make a disgruntled look at that stare, turning his head away all huffy.] What.

[Because you sounded like him or Sora there, Vani]

Just shut up and take the advice. [Nhghgh blame the good influences he's been around for the last year and a half.]

[Aw Vanitas, he's glad those kinds of things can sink in]
