Ventus, I got your package today. Carriers apologized about it being late.. [Pausing a moment, he lets out a sighed breath, a small smile creeping onto his face anyway.] It looks good.



[There's a moment with purple streaking across the screen, paws hitting the Gear and unlocking it for the rest of the network to see; Vanitas petting a very affectionate Purrloin on his shoulder with a red ribbon tied around the kitty's neck, smiling a bit more openly.]

Nitas, don't jump up like that. I was done talking anyway.. impatient.

[Turning his attention back to the Gear, he clears his throat.]

Thanks, Ventus.

[.... o o p s, he didn't know the call unlocked. Well, either way, he's hanging up now, so the feed clicks off.]

[Watching the Pokemon, his mouth quirks a little upwards in a nagging motion at the sight of them together... Nope, nipping that smile in the bud by smacking his cheeks with both hands. FACE STOP DOING THINGS WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, GOSH.]

[ releases Vani's face now. ]

I'd rather it wasn't either of those. [With his face released, Vanitas lets go of Karkat's wrists to rub at his cheeks.]

Alex gives Leopold a nuzzle before trotting back to Karkat. woofing. ]

[Frowning and narrowing his eyes, he grunts a little, but moves to reach and idly pet both the cat and the two tailed... does an Espeon count as a cat as well?]

[ Karkat moves to sit down and that dog plants itself on that lap. ]

... Yeah. Ventus told you about them, huh? [Sitting up after a few small pets, he reaches to pick up the wooden weapon again, lifting it to be seen better.]

[ Karkat stretches his neck to get a good look. ]

Sort of. He said they were a weapon and that's about it.

That's pretty much all there is to them. People can only summon them if they have the makings of a Master and have touched one before. [Glancing at it, Vani idly rubbed what would be one of the eyes on the weapon.] If this was real and you touched it, you would eventually be able to summon your own.

[ Karkat snorts, rolling his eyes. ]

The makings of a master. That's the disqualification right there.

It's bullshit, honestly. [Flipping it around and offering it by the handle, Vanitas cracks a faint smile.] I shouldn't have it, but I do.

[Quieting a little, Vanitas reaches for his bag and pulls out the second replica he has of the same weapon; this is the one that breaks easier.] Probably. He wanted me to make the X-blade, after all. [His tone had quieted as much as his expression, simply staring at the weapon in his hand.]

[Still looking down, he shakes his head a little but eventually looks up with a crooked smile.] Being here has made me wonder what it would have been like, had I not been raised by Master.

[ Karkat looks at Vanitas, handing the thing back. ]

[Taking back the replica weapon, he looks between the two before placing them carefully back into his bag, rolling his eyes.]
