[Opening up the feed with only his palm in view, there sit three badges.

I'm one step further than when we last spoke, Franziska.

[Vanitas curls his palm shut to block the view of the badges then as he lifts the Gear, regarding the screen with a rather smug look.]

How many badges do you have?

[His tone was making it seem like he was asking more than just Frannie about her badge collecting; Vanitas almost appears as if he wants to hear about others as well. Competition, as it was.]

Yeah, I know, but it still feels like forever. Battling was a lot of fun at first, but now that I've been on the road for so long, it's getting a little boring.

Try changing the battle routine, or fight them yourself. [Like he does. No, seriously, Vanitas fistfights his Charizard on a daily basis.] It keeps all of them in shape as well as yourself.

[That... never even occurred to him. Especially since he had been told over and over again that it was the Pokémon who did the battling, not him.]

Whoa, I don't know if I could fight any of them without my swords. Maybe I'll just try catching another type so I have more to do...

Hand to hand combat works just fine. [Shrugging again, he's only recommending things because he got his ego stroked.] What ones do you have?

Oh, well, I just started out, so I only have two. Gonzales-- [--he tilts the PokéGear to the napping Totodile at his side--] and Ezekiel, a Pidgey.

Pretty cool names, right?

I don't name mine. [Except when he openly says Void and Dart. ~~At least Dartanian was pre-named.~~] The crocodile one seems to be a water type, from it's coloration. [And Pidgeys are those birds that are almost everywhere.]

I think I'd get pretty irritated if someone kept calling me "Human" while they told me to do stuff. Plus, it's kinda fun coming up with names.

Yeah, Totodile is a water Pokémon. Do the colors usually have a lot to do with typing?

They aren't people.

Sometimes it's obvious as to what one is.

... regardless of whether or not they're human, I think they deserve as much respect as anybody else does.

They have to earn my respect. [Shrugging lightly again, he doesn't seem the least bit bothered by his own words.]

What about those three badges?

[Not haughty or anything! Just being... cautious toned.ish. thing.]

They've been too easy. [Course, having an overleveled Charizard dumped into your team makes these things unchallenging-]

[... sine he's assuming Vanitas didn't go up and punch the gym leaders in the face and take the badges by force.]

Thanks to my training. They'd be slouches otherwise. [Now there's a thought, maybe Vanitas should try that next-]

[He really isn't sure he agrees; it sounded more like it went both ways, that Trainers needed their Pokémon just as much as the creatures needed them. But Lloyd isn't looking to pick any fights, and this guy's got more experience with the world than he does anyway. He lets it slide for now, looking a little uncomfortable.]

... What does your team consist of? I'm still learning about all of the different types.

[Lloyd has yet to figure out he's speaking with a jerk. Instead of saying anything though, he simply passes the gear down to... a Sneasel, who promptly delivers a stink eye, before the feed gets passed around.

All in all, there is an excitable Minun, a surprisingly cheery Swablu, a rather ... explosive looking Charizard, a deadpanned Eevee, and the feed is held up to catch a glimpse of a Misdreavus that lets out an overly delighted scream.

Taking his Gear back, Vanitas is shushing the Pokemon with a simple, sour faced look.]

[j e a l o u s------ okay well he winced at the screaming one but ultimately aaaah want---]

Whoa!! There's a lot of them, and they all look so different!

[At least focusing on them instead calms his originally growing annoyed expression. Giving a partial shrug, he's looking a bit prideful all over again.]

My starter isn't with me at the moment since I'm training one to see if it's potential is worth it. [Gesturing to that deadpan expression Eevee.]
