[South of Goldenrod and neck deep in trees, this is where Vanitas can be found. Does he really want to be this lost in the woods? Not particularly, but staring at too many trees is surprisingly good for not thinking. Why not thinking, you ask? Oh, just a little thing called an existential crisis.

Huddled under a small lean-to constructed out of already fallen branches and large shrubs, Vanitas just stared out into the woods; particularly, at an old shrine across the clearing. One thing he definitely noticed is that the small wooden structure went unharmed, and just about every type of Pokemon in the forest had stopped by to simply stand by it for a few moments before continuing on their way.

Overall? It's something worth investigating, but not with the cold weather going on. Sure, he could start a small fire under the lean-to with help from Dartanian, but something just made him not bother and stay put under the lean-to.]

[The target has been sighted. Footsteps crunch on the grass. kneesocks has decided to start with the diplomatic approach, first, not heading right towards or even looking right towards where Vanitas is. She adjusts her glasses, stopping right in front of the shrine. Her Beedrill buzzzes impatiently over her shoulder, wanting a fight.]

... I know you are here, Vanitas. You have been ordered to return to Team Rocket Headquarters. It would be best if you came peacefully.

[It was one long trek from Goldenrod to Ilex Forest, something that Ventus really hadn't missed when opting to take the shortcut. But with others traveling that route, he knows Sora and Vanitas couldn't be in that area.

So he's tromping his way through the tall grass between lanes of trees, occasionally bringing his hands to either side of his mouth as he calls the names of missing spiky-haired boys.

And he's just about to try again when he overhears somebody say Vanitas' name, pausing and glancing around]

[Hearing that mention of the organization, he outright sneered from his location. Tempted to stay put and be silent, his pride had him sliding out silently and glowering at the stranger.]

Not interested.

[He doesn't look all that well, honestly, for living in the woods for the last week and so many days. His skin has taken a paler constitution, he clearly hasn't been eating (only noticeable from the growl his stomach makes), and the dark rings under his eyes indicate lack of sleep. Clothing is soaked, hair is soaked and lacking as much sproing to the spikes... yeah. This shouldn't be difficult for him at all 8|a]

[She pushes her glasses up more. She's somewhat aware of a third presence, but assumes it's nothing to worry about.]

Then you leave me little choice.

Beedrill.

[Ho - ! He snaps to attention.]

Find him, and then use Poison Sting.

[No one said they had to bring him back healthy. Beedrill buzzes, happy to fight, and begins flying rapidly towards Vanitas' voice had come from. It already has its pointy arms stretched out, ready to stab him once he's been properly located.]

[Ignoring the small guy's never a good idea, especially since Ven's thought to send Bolt ahead to investigate. After all, Bolt came from this forest - who'd know how to navigate it better than the mouse?

So while Ven's picking his way around to where he heard those voices coming from, something moves quickly through the grass and shrubs, tiny stature only leaving rustling in its wake.

And upon spotting that Beedrill, Bolt makes the executive decision to use Thunder]

[Curling his lip in the manner of a growling animal, Vanitas made a reach for one of the Pokeballs on his hip, but stopped when that thunderbolt came out of nowhere. Starting briefly, he turned his head and almost made a face at the small Pikachu.

That's Ventus', isn't it?]

[ZAP! Beedrill falls to the ground for the moment, then sits upright, with a slightly singed wing. He would like to know just what the eff happened. So would Kneesocks, as she glares at the Pikachu through her glasses.]

Get up, Beedrill. I didn't tell you to stop. This rat can be handled by the others.

[Beedrill quickly gets back in the air to resume the search. She unhooks two Pokeballs from her belt, and gives them a toss - from one comes Snover, from the other a Solrock.]

Snover, get rid of the pest. Use Icy Wind. Solrock, see if the rat has an owner, and get rid of them too. Use Fire Spin if you see them.

[Solrock floats off, beginning to look for Ventus, while Snover starts showering the Pikachu with sharpened snowy wind! This is what you get when you break the rrrrrules!]

[Bolt's made of tougher stuff and higher levels than that, so he's quick to retaliate when the ice lets up, darting in close to use a Thunder Punch. Small or not, his special attack's none too shabby.

Ven on the other hand's close enough to hear what the girl says before her Solrock drifts into view and he simply ducks out of the way, picking up the pace. That Thunder's made it obvious to him where to head, and he soon emerges on the scene]

Since when're you supposed to attack people with your team?

[Now Vanitas is going to scowl and flick one of those Pokeballs, a large Charizard forming behind him. Dartanian lets out a loud roar and spits a pillar of fire into the air before being instructed to "deal with the Beedrill". Taking off into the air, Dart is quick to find the giant Bee and close in with a shot of flamethrower, looking all the while purely gleeful that he gets to fight.

Vanitas then finally steps out from around his shelter, moving between the stranger and Ventus.]

Get lost. I'm not reporting to some Organization that can't do anything.

[She twitches, just slightly. This... would not to. Beedrill struggles frantically to dodge the flames, but he gets hit several times. Snover is struck by the Punch, and wobbles backwards... and Solrock has found his target. Ventus son, you better move, because he's trying to shoot fire at you!]

... Two against one. How crude... and that is... completely... against...

The rrrrrrrules!

[She howls that, enraged! How dare you break a rule of Johto?! casually ignoring the fact she did by attack a person, but... She takes out the last of her Pokemon, Psyduck!]

Psyduck, use Water Gun! Snover, we need to get out of here fast... Use Mist!

[The bird suddenly sends a small torrent of water towards Charizard's way, Snover raises its arms, and out of its mouth emits a white smoke... it continues to grow and grow... soon, vision begins to blur, because the forest is becoming shrouded in Mist!]

...Well if you want to get technical...

[It's not exactly two against one, but Ven's left squinting as he moves nearer to Vanitas. If this girl's attacking people, he's not about to stand for that, especially when he was just looking for the guy anyhow.

Solrock might not have the easiest time seeing him, and besides that, Ven's tossing a ball up into the air. Out pops a Dragonair, hovering overhead]

Aura, try and hit that thing with Aqua Tail!

[Dartanian gives a roar of victory once Beedrill goes down, but gives an angry sound when a hit of the water gun nails him in the face. Shaking off the droplets, the Charizard comes shooting back down with an intent to slash the Psyduck with claws, but the mist makes him careen back up into the air.

Vanitas himself started having to squint though with the mist settling into place and outright scowled. Making a few more steps to the right where he could still hear Ventus, he reached out a few times, aiming to catch the blond by the jacket.]

[A chase ensues, with Solrock trying to fly away from Aura! Snover continues to mist it up! Psyduck continues to hose it up with water! Beedrill continues to... lay twitching in pain. Oh by the way, Vanitas? Guess who you just grabbed?

It wasn't Ventus.]

Rrrrrule-breakers should always be punished.

[And she suddenly KNEES him hard right in the gut. Apparently, somehow, human to human force isn't breaking the rules either.]

[Aura's hot on Solrock's trail while Bolt tries to seek out Snover and land a blow with Iron Tail, trying to interrupt that foggy business.

Ven's pretty sure that idiot was for him, but the sound of a blow being dealt's indication enough that something's going on. And the voice is really all Ventus needs, rushing forward and tackling that girl]

Leave him alone!

[The blow was enough to nearly bite his own tongue, letting out a guh! before wheezing as he winds up dropping to a knee.]

You say that nonsense like kicking me doesn't break any sort of rules! [Vanitas snarls that out, before swiftly crouching and spinning on his hands to sweep his legs out to knock the girl down; he could hear Ventus running forward though and quickly pulled his legs back after.

Dartanian can hear some nonsense going on below and with a final hard flap of his wings, he darts down into the mist and belches some fire in the direction he's hearing that Psyduck, before moving in with shadow claw.]

[And down she goes! But not quietly. No, now she's got an idea.]

Beedrill! Come here! Snover, halt Mist!

[As both pokemon obey, with the latter getting hit by Iron Tail anyway, Kneesocks suddenly puts an arm around Ventus' neck, putting him in a choke hold. As she stands up, Beedrill comes to her size, and holds one of his stingers near Ventus' face.]

I'll make this simple... Return your Pokemon to the ball and come with me. Or this boy will be infected with poison.

[And, to be a bigger bitch, she angles him in a way to use him as a shield, in case any Pokemon go after her.]

You've really got no idea...

[Of course with her arm around his throat, Ven keeps things short. As much as he really hates causing any pain, he knows this is problematic and that she's perfectly willing to harm him...and do who-knows-what to Vanitas. So he does what one of his small army of adopted older siblings taught him, eblowing her sharply in the gut and using that moment to jerk free, moving away from that stinger]

Bolt!

[Hopefully Beedrill likes Thunder attacks, because another one's headed its way]
