[The feed opens up a bit into the bushes, a Buizel chittering away behind the screen and a Litwick wiggling just in the right hand corner, and paws are rolling the gear around. It takes a few minutes for the camera to be righted and pointing a direction that doesn't show leaves and snow, and then it's displaying a yard. A backyard.

Out in that backyard, Vanitas is practicing hand to hand combat with his Riolu and Croagunk; all three are working on their form today, led by "Instructor Zuru" the Scraggy. It seems to be going well enough, some simple arm thrusts and kicks being worked through, before they split into two groups. Riot starts off with a fierce volley of kicks at Zuru, who starts countering and dodging, and Vanitas takes a charge at the Croagunk.. who looks overly nonchalant.

It's a split second movement that the frog fighter makes, and not one Vanitas was particularly ready for; Croagunk used foul play and downright sucker punched his trainer in the gut, doing a fine job of knocking him off his feet and flat on his back. The resulting pained wheeze is enough to make the voyeur Pokemon go running, the Buizel leaving the gear behind in the bushes to time out on its own.]

Well, the difference between a wise man, a smart man and a dumb man is a wise man learns from his mistakes, a smart man never makes them and a dumb man never learns. I personally prefer wisdom to raw intelligence, as wisdom has a charismatic aura about it. Wouldn't you agree? [ It's hard to tell if this is a backhanded compliment or a genuine one. ]

Glad to see you impose restrictions but I am curious. Why not train them with other pokémon?

I do, I just would rather fight with them myself. Keeps me on my toes. It'll be a long time before one catches me off guard again.

Well, I guess you're a different type of man after all. [ Leaning towards dumb man but that's where most people here land, in her opinion. ]

I suppose it's best to make sure you're in top shape, but, I find that there's many ways to keep yourself in prime physical condition. Perhaps you should keep your training to pokémon you can trust. Or possibly ones with less of a violent personality.

Yeah, good enough idea. Shitstain here just earned himself a rematch though, because if I can beat some respect into him, it'll be worth it when it comes to a situation where I have to rely on him. [Like punching Team Rocket grunts.] If I can't trust him to watch my back when it counts, then I'm not letting him stick around.

Right. It's the main reason I want to fight him myself. [That's about the only thing that is making him not so unsure; she's very right in that aspect.]

Well, I commend you for having the ability to exert control over your pokémon. Several people seem to lack that. [ That will hopefully make him feel much less unsure. ]

[It sure does make him less unsure.] It's what I think most trainers should do, but I get that not everyone likes fighting, or is capable of being able to even try.

Well, usually if one carries themselves confidently and sternly, they're able to reign in their pokémon. Usually they're some more disobedient ones, but I've been able to assert myself. I can't speak much for the other trainers.

Yeah, that should also work. I wonder if the badges actually account for something, when it comes to disobedient Pokemon.

They should, but I guess the application of them is a tad hazy. I've seen tons of pokémon disobey anyways, which makes me wonder how exactly do these badges work. And why must your pokémon know certain moves in order to transport or perform feats that are well within their natural parameters.

Like any bird worth its wings knowing how to fly, and any water type Pokemon knowing how to surf. It is really dumb if they don't know how to do that while carrying a person along.

Point. In fact, I think I've seen unlikely pokémon being able to raft people across rivers and, somehow, a pokémon without wings being able to provide aerial transportation. [ Johto just gets crazier and crazier. ]

Like tiny seahorses and hardly a foot tall Spearow? [He's seen them all in action; Horsea aren't weak by any means, but they're so damn small he can't see how they haul themselves along.]

I'm glad you will. After all, I really do enjoy our little nonchalant conversations. They're quite a breeze compared to the usual emotional blabbering that goes on over this network.

I still cannot believe your pokemon learning new moves can be considered, by previous example, a worthy thing to broadcast. Or, the standard "my pokemon is slightly disobedient" that somehow broadcasts itself for five minutes.

It's one thing to ask for assistance with a disobedient Pokemon that attacks or causes real problems. It's another if it just doesn't want to evolve or doesn't like the food being shoved at it. Learning new moves is only interesting if it's something no one thought it could learn, like those ghost giants that can fly.

Agreed. Unfortunately, with how often help is requested these days, I find myself doubting if Johto is really in capable hands with giant creatures if they are puzzled when it comes to merely getting along with them.

Probably not. Both regions do send everyone out with some goal to discover more about the Pokemon that have been here for hundreds of years.

A very valid point. I fear we might be here forever with the lack of innovative scientific techniques. At the very least, it's up to us to return ourselves to our home.
