Trainers with Aerodactyls. Did any of you manage to get yours to quit snapping at everything in sight, or is this something I'm going to have to figure out on my own?

[Staring into the screen, Vanitas looks all sorts of nonchalant today, despite the ancient dinosaur with wings having a mouthful of forearm in her jaws. She's a bit smaller than an Aerodactyl is supposed to be, but it certainly doesn't change the annoyed snarl from her face. Really, he's just calling it a baby tantrum; she didn't like that he reached down in the way of her food and took a chomp.

Why the hell does he look like it doesn't hurt? When Sharon growls and tries to grind her teeth more, all she manages is to tear his sleeve a bit and reveal that there is a heavily hammered steel gauntlet beneath the fabric, and while the teeth aren't getting through, they're starting to leave some nasty dents.]

Anyway, the Pewter gym looks like it'll be easy as hell. It's a rock type gym, right? I guess we'll see if I get surprised at all or not; I did underestimate Celadon's gym once.

[Sharon doesn't like this 'being ignored' thing, and growls louder, gnashing her teeth against the steel.] Gnaw all you want, you big baby. You're not breaking through it, not with how many layers I melted into that thing.

[Is he pouting? He is pouting.] Maybe I just wanted to show off the armor then. [He'd gesture, but Sharon doesn't particularly want to give up his arm.]

Yeah, eventually. Heh, Terror was her mother, so the wildness and the want to chomp doesn't surprise me all that much, but your idea is pretty good. I might start trying that, since my battles are getting too easy.

[Master Vanitas? Wow. He's almost wanting to correct her, to say she doesn't need to call him that, but it sounds so.. good. So he doesn't. It just brings a real smile to his face finally.]

Yeah, there are. What's your favorite kind that you've met or worked with so far? Or do you only have your starter? [She seems new enough. The Minun removes himself from Sharon's snout finally though, and it seems some unsaid words happened, because the Aerodactyl finally is letting go with a displeased rumble.]

Aglon's another of Terror's daughters. She was pretty hard to keep in line as a hatchling too, but I got through.

Foofyku and I couldn't figure out the reason my music plan worked with Aglon, while Terror is... You know. Maybe the other parent has some influence on how... functional, the higher brain is.

[ he's a craftsman! clearly he should be called Master Vanitas! ]

Um...I have Xiao'yu, my starter, and Flaming Rabbit! [ species name, Xiaoqiao...learn them. ]

Xiao'yu is a...fish like pokemon? And Flaming Rabbit is a pony! [ -ta ] Oh and I have a lion, dog egg hatching!

...Ah huh.

[ sounding a little smug there, huh? or maybe that's just teasing. ]

[ So, guess who's sitting in front of the PC at the PokeCenter in Cherrygrove, watching this broadcast? Hikaru is. Why? Because her Gear is broken and Nurse Joy only just revealed to the redhead that the network can be accessed through the PC. Ah, the wonders of technology and -- ]

[ Yep, someone sounds pretty excited to see him... and that someone is also pausing because -- ]

Is that a dinosaur?

[ Chewing on him. Is that a dinosaur chewing on him? What in the world?! ]

[ It's probably a good thing Valeria isn't in the immediate vicinity or Vanitas' Aerodactyl would very likely be receiving a prompt falcon punch in the snout. She may yet if she's still acting up by the time Valeria gets there. ]

It's a rock-type gym, yes. You'll be facing Brock and his Rhyhorn, Golem, and Onix. From what I've seen of them, they're a formidable team.

[ And she'll be nodding in the general direction of the camera, specifically at that gauntlet. She sees what you did there, Vanitas, and it tugs a smile out of her. ]

Nice handiwork, by the way.

[He's just realizing who that name is supposed to mean.] Foofyku is.

[Snrrrrt, chuckling hard.]

Want to show me them? I can tell you what their species name is, and if I've raised one myself, some tips on making them strong enough.

Yeah, kind of a dinosaur. She's a pre-historic species, at least. [He gives no cares about that gnawing on his arm, because that gauntlet is holding up nicely.]

[Narrowing his eyes at that smug tone, Vanitas sticks his tongue out for just a moment, before turning to try and deal with his toothy baby.] Sharon, is the metal tasty or something?

[Or she'll get a warning from the trainer that it won't help and a snap from the unhappy baby herself.]

Just those three? That must be for the regular challenge; I'm taking on his elite team. He should have six Pokemon, all at level 100, and it'll be a strategy fight rather than an overpowered fight. Then again, rock types? Easiest thing with tons of weaknesses.

[He can't help a sort of proud looking smirk at that, lifting his arm despite the Aerodactyl jaws still latched to it.]

Yeah? It does it's job and holds up after.

Oh! That'd be great help! Especially Xiao'yu...I've never had to train something fish like before... So even though I'm confident I'll be fine with Flaming Rabbit I'm kind of worried about Xiao'yu.

[ aaand with that she's taking the gear with her to the bathroom. because Xiao'yu is resting in the filled tub. say hi to the feebas? ]

That's Xiao'yu.

...Is it teething?

*She doesn't get how that nickname is funny. Seriously.*

That is the regular challenge, yes. I'm sure I've seen his elite team at some point, but I've been more focused on the regular.

[ Which makes her a bit less help than she might otherwise be. Whoops! She smiles as he lifts his arm, screen still bobbing a bit. ]

So I see. You'll have to let me know next time you go to work. I'd like to watch, if you don't mind!

Understandably, since I've seen you training that Scyther since forever. If you can, I'd say invest in some grass technical machines if he can learn any.

It's probably a boring watch, but sure. Once I get Sharon dealt with, I'll probably start on some other stuff.

You call Riku "Foofyku"?

Probably. She didn't really go for the first chew toys I tossed though. Maybe it seems more like she's 'eating' by gnawing like this.

A Feebas. They're actually way better than Magikarp, if only in that they learn more than splash. You shouldn't have much trouble getting it to level up and get stronger. I would say avoid grass or electric types though, since water types are weak to those two. They're excellent against rock, ground and fire types, and can put up a decent fight against ice and steel types.

I think that one evolves through the use of an item, but you'll have to ask someone else about that, since I don't have one myself.

Well, between Rikku with two ks, Riku with one k I needed to tell them apart. And with Evan and Rin who both look like Riku with one k but younger and less sure about Pokemon stuff showing up. Plus none of you have last names which is how I normally separate people with the exact same names.

It was easier to use Braidku and Foofyku.

I...think I understand. [ maybe, if she thinks of it purely in terms of elements it makes sense. it's just when she thinks of fish vs. flaming horses...it makes much less sense. ]

Um...evolve is when they get really big, right? I'll be sure to ask someone about that!

Yeah. They evolve into a Pokemon called Milotic. [Picking up his pokedex, he shows the device to her.] You have one of these too. If you type in the name, or point the camera at a Pokemon, it'll give you more information and a name.
