I think it's time for an upgrade.

[To that, he's shifting the camera to show his Minun chewing on some crackers, lounging on his shoulder.]

"Runt" isn't a name that fits him so much anymore. Suggestions? [There's a sudden crash in the background, Minun jumping and dropping the rest of his cracker, but it's the video and Vanitas turning to find... well.]

... Why do you always look like I'm catching you in the middle of somethng?

[The yellow Pokemon keeps standing there with arms above the head, but takes a moment to slowly reach down and draw his "pants" back up. Vanitas sighs, his tone a bit annoyed, but leaves the feed on the new Pokemon.]

A name for this guy too. Hatched this morning and every time I look at him, he looks like this.

[Actually, the camera turns a little to the left and there's a broken potted plant pushed up against the desk, where... oh. He was after the crackers on the table. There's a moment of quietly looking between the mess and the yellow Pokemon inching out of the frame, but eventually Vanitas reaches and pulls some of the crackers down, handing them to the suddenly greedy hands.

With his "prize" in tow, the Scraggy starts to make a run and gets a few steps out of sight before tripping on his "pants", which have fallen again.]

Maybe I need to get you a belt... [Vanitas sounds like he's refraining from chuckling, clicking the feed off.]

He's earned a better one. [The number looks familiar, and the voice sounds familiar, but he can't recall a name to the face he's seeing.]

... but won't he find it weird if you suddenly changed it? I know he deserves a better one, but he must have been used to = it by now.

[Glancing to the Minun on his shoulder, the rodent is giving a thumbs up and bouncing a little on his seat.] He seems to like the idea. I don't think he ever cared for being called Runt.

Do you have other name choices in mind so far? At least an idea or something similar?

[Hey, he's grown quite a bit over the last year!] Not really. Just something other than Runt. [Though with the Pokemon chittering in his ear, he's reaching up to poke the rodent in the nose to shush.]

He's mischievous and likes to tease the others on my team, and fake cry to make people give him things. [Those crocodile tears don't work on his trainer, unfortunately for him.]

[This is quite a bit of improvement, yes. Come to the derp side, Vanitas.]

Hm, naming pokemon is different for various people. Some people name them after people they know, or after their pets back home or just from their habits. Some people name them using a theme.

[That would be her. All of them "starts with an s." It's a naming habit she stuck with.]

Mine don't have much of a theme. 'Runt' was because he was annoying at the time.

Hmm... well, he's not anymore, is that it? How about naming him after something you like?

.... [Minun does not suit the name "Peaches", is his first thought. Scrunching his face slightly in thought, the Pokemon is going to leap at the Gear now, not wanting to be out of this discussion.

Have some Pokechitter for a few moments while Vanitas tries to pry the negatively charged critter off the positively charged Gear.]

He does. [Annoyed as his tone is, when Vanitas does manage to pry the ruffian off the screen, he has a hint of a smile creeping onto his face.] Get off that or I'll keep the name Runt. [There's a crash similar to earlier, and he's distracted in looking that way.]

Hey, you, stop breaking the pots. There isn't anything in them but dirt, and I'm not cleaning up your mess again. [Yeah, the newly hatched one is trying to find hidden things. Breaking pots seems to be the answer.]

Speed, but his favorite method of attack is to jump on the other Pokemons back and shock them there. Usually they can't reach him so he can keep at it till they faint.

[Kind of walking to herd the baby away from the broken pot, Pantsmon whines offscreen.]

Yeah. Can't say I've seen anything like him before, but he's kind of a dip.

How about something that sort of describes him like that? Only slightly different?

Naming him Idiot is like naming him Ventus. [It's a joke, but he does call Ven an idiot frequently. But yes, Scraggy may need a belt until he gets used to walking with that hanging around his feet, cause there's a small jerk as Vanitas is picking up the Pokemon by the "hood" of that skin.] I'm not carrying you, get up and walk.

Yeah? I'll have to see what others have hatched into, maybe they're less... [Like Pantsless here.]

... Rascal doesn't sound that cool. [Well, Minun is a total rascal. It just sounds not that different than Runt to him.]

It's his skin, so he must have molted in the egg at some point, but yeah. Always falling. He pulls it up like a shield sometimes though so I guess it's normal.

[Yellowish plant critter... ~~kind of cute, in the way Sanaa was when she was a baby.~~] What's that one called?
